Gnoss Field Airport Proposed Runway Extension EIS and EIR

Gnoss Field Airport Runway AerialWelcome

This website is a convenient place to obtain information about the environmental study of the proposed runway extension at the Marin County Airport at Gnoss Field in Novato, California.  The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is responsible for the safety and efficiency of aviation in the United States, is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), and the County of Marin, which is responsible for land use and the management of operations at Gnoss Field, is concurrently preparing an Environmental Impact Report (EIR).  When completed, the EIS and the EIR will evaluate the potential environmental impacts of the proposed project and its alternatives.  The project schedule, relevant news, upcoming public involvement activities, and reports/analyses from the EIS and EIR will be posted here during what is anticipated to be a 30 to 36-month study process.  You will also be able to use this website to sign up for the mailing list and get your views into the study process (see "Public Participation").
